Petro Gazz sweeps UAI-Army for semis spot, Cignal downs F2 to boost semis bid

The Petro Gazz Angels booked a ticket to the semifinals after sweeping UAI-Army, 25-13, 25-12, 25-19, in the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Import Lindsey Vander Weide made 20 points off 14 attacks, 4 blocks, and 2 aces to lead the Angels, while locals Aiza Pontillas and MJ Phillips tallied 12 and 10 points each. 

Meanwhile, the Cignal HD Spikers took down the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, 25-21, 20-25, 25-14, 25-20, to move closer to a semis spot.

Ces Molina led Cignal with 20 points, while Angeli Araneta added 15 points for the Cignal win. F2 import Lindsay Stalzer was the only double digit scorer for the Cargo Movers with 26 points.

Petro Gazz (5-2) and Cignal (4-3) will try to extend their wins on Tuesday when the HD Spikers face Choco Mucho, while the Angels will face F2 to end their elimination round campaign.
