La Salle stays undefeated with UE sweep; NU bounces back in four-setter against UP

De La Salle University remained undefeated in the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball tournament after a sweep of University of the East,  25-20, 25-21, 25-14, on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Thea Gagate had 13 points, while Amie Provido had 10 points in the Taft-based squad's fourth straight win of the season.

National University, on the other hand, overcame a first set loss against University of the Philippines, 18-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-11, to bounce back from their loss against University of Santo Tomas last Saturday.

Sheena Toring led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points, while Vangie Alinsug and Alyssa Solomon chipped in 13 points each. Cess Robles tallied 11 points of her own to give NU a 3-1 record.

Meanwhile, Adamson University swept NU tormentors UST, 25-15, 25-17, 25-19 to improve to 3-1. Far Eastern University, on the other hand, outlasted Ateneo de Manila University, 25-12, 15-25, 19-25, 25-15, 18-16.

UAAP action will return on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena with FEU (2-2) taking on La Salle and UP (1-3) facing UST (2-2).
