RP envoy to Chile honored for 10 years of service


MANILA, Philippines — The Universidad Santo Tomas in Santiago, Chile honored Philippine Ambassador to Santiago Ma. Consuelo Puyat-Reyes recently for her 10 years of service in Chile. An article on the Department of Foreign Affairs Web site (www.dfa.gov.ph) Wednesday said the ceremony also lauded Reyes for her support to the university as President of the Institute of Asia and the Pacific, of which 11 members are Asia Pacific countries. Presiding over the ceremony last March 25 was the new president of the University, Mr. Gerardo Rocha Haardt, who handed a plaque of recognition for the Ambassador. In attendance at the event were high ranking government officials, ambassadors of the diplomatic corps headed by H.E. Apostolic Nuncio and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Monsignor Giuseppe Pinto, and businessmen. Chile President Michelle Bachelet was represented at the ceremony by her mother Angela Jeria de Bachelet, the DFA said. - GMANews.TV
