Pres. Marcos: Gov't monitoring closely Storm Neneng's effects
By MEL MATTHEW DOCTOR,GMA NewsPresident Bongbong Marcos on Sunday said that the government is “watching closely” the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Neneng, particularly the northern part of Luzon.
“Government assets are in place to deal with the aftermath and ensure the primary needs of those affected, especially food, safe drinking water, and electricity,” the President wrote on Twitter.
“Nevertheless, to the provinces in the North that have felt the effects, help is on the way. We encourage everyone to follow the directives of your LGUs and MDRRMCs,” he added.
In its 11 a.m. severe weather bulletin, PAGASA said that Signal No. 3 remains hoisted over the southern portion of Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
Also, the he state weather bureau said that Neneng has further intensified while moving westward away from the Babuyan Islands.

As of 10 a.m., the center of the eye of Neneng was estimated at 115 km west-northwest of Calayan, Cagayan.
It had maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 125 km/h, and central pressure of 980 hPa.
At present, Neneng is moving west-northwestward at 25 kph.
It also has strong to storm-force winds that extend outwards up to 550 km from the center. —LBG, GMA News
