UST suspends classes in wake of heavy rain, floods
The University of Santo Tomas in Manila suspended classes in all levels Saturday in the wake of heavy rain that brought floods to parts of Metro Manila.
In a post on its Facebook account, the UST Central Student Council said the order came from the Office of the Secretary General.
"Due to continuous rains and flooding in the campus and surrounding areas, CLASSES ARE SUSPENDED IN ALL LEVELS TODAY, September 15, 2012," it said.
Last Tuesday, UST was also forced to suspend classes due to the heavy rain and floods that swamped parts of Metro Manila.
On Monday, the heavy rain had stranded more than 1,000 students at the UST campus in Manila.
Heavy rain and floods again hit Metro Manila before dawn Saturday. PAGASA issued a red rainfall alert at 4:30 a.m., warning of intense to torrential rain. — ELR, GMA News
