PAGASA: Cold weather finally being felt in Metro Manila
After weeks of relatively warm weather, Metro Manila residents may have to bring out their jackets as the cold weather associated with the Christmas season is now for real, a state weather forecaster said Friday. PAGASA forecaster Bernie de Leon said the lowest temperature in Metro Manila on Thursday was recorded at 21.7 degrees Celsius. "Napapansin ninyo unti-unti nang lumalamig ang panahon. Paalala sa pumapasok sa gabi at madaling araw magdamit ng makapal para makaiwas tayo sa sakit," he said in an interview on dzBB radio. Earlier, PAGASA said the cold weather is likely to settle in during the third week of December, and peak in January. In past weeks, the weather in Metro Manila was warm despite the northeast monsoon affecting parts of Luzon. PAGASA had said the warm weather was due to the warm winds from the east affecting parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila. The cold weather brought by the northeast monsoon is associated with the Christmas season. The Philippines is known for having the world's longest Christmas season. — LBG, GMA News
