The city government's warned about the Manila Bay's waters being unsafe for swimming but many Filipinos were still there before sunrise for an Easter dip. As early as 5 a.m.,  people waited at the area of Manila Bay near the United States Embassy to get into the water, radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported. Some of them even brought towels to dry off once they finish their dip, the report said. They apparently ignored the large signage from the city government warning them against swimming since the water was not safe for their health. City administrator Jay Marzan pointed out the city already has City Ordinance 3827, which bans swimming in the bay. Also, Marzan pointed out that the Department of Health had warned the water in the bay is contaminated by garbage and toxins.  — ELR/HS, GMA News
