At least five people were reported killed in a fire that hit a residential area in Las Piñas City before dawn Saturday.

The fire started at the compound of rented rooms at Almanza 1 Compound at 1:50 a.m., radio dzBB reported Saturday noon.

One of the fatalities was identified as Erlinda Bautista, reportedly the owner of the house, dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported.

A report on "Balitanghali" said Bautista's remains were found near the comfort room of her house.
