10 hurt in Quezon City jail fight
At least 10 inmates of the Quezon City Jail were hurt when a fight between members of the Bahala Na Gang and a newly committed inmate escalated into a riot Monday night.
The fight started when an alleged mentally-challenged inmate hit a member of Bahala Na Gang, said Senior Insp. Jose Ramdam Jr., the jail facility's duty officer.
"Nanuntok ng Bahala. Akala ng karamihan ng Bahala eh Sputnik yun, pero in reality, inmate po natin yun na may mental disorder," he said.
Ramdam said other inmates joined the commotion by hurling plates and glasses.
Three inmates who were allegedly involved in the incident were identified as Larry Selos, Anthony Ryan Isla, and Anthony Valdez.
The injured were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
The inmate who started the fight, who was recently committed to QC jail and said to have a mental disorder, was also among those injured, Ramdam said.
"Na-pacify agad, nai-lock agad ang mga selda. Wala pong putok na nangyari. Ang narinig yung mga bato na tumama sa bubong," Ramdam said. — APG,GMA News
