Police officer shot to death in Tondo

Motorcycle-riding gunmen shot and killed a police officer early Monday morning in Manila's Tondo district, according to a report on GMA 7 morning news program "Unang Balita".

The victim, identified as PO2 Frederick Tolentino, was driving along Quezon Street at around 2:30 a.m. when he was waylaid and shot at by two men on a motorcycle.

A second set of gunmen on another motorcycle then drove up and also opened fire on Tolentino.

The suspects then roared away, heading towards Pacheco Street.

Tolentino had gunshot wounds on the neck, back, and head. The car had four bullet holes on the windshield, and four more on the passenger side window. — DVM, GMA News
