Road closure, traffic rerouting in Manila for Sara-Erap event


Some roads will be closed in Manila on Monday, December 3, 2018, for an activity that will be participated in by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada's political parties, the Manila Police District said.

In an announcement on Sunday, the MPD's Public Information Office said that due to the Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) and Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) Alliance Party event at the San Andres Sports Complex starting at 7 a.m., the following roads will be closed starting at 5 a.m. Monday:

  • stretch of San Andres Street from Adriatico Street to LM Guerrero Street, Malate, Manila
  • stretch of Leveriza Street from Quirino to San Andres Street, Malate, Manila

The MPD also described the alternate routes that motorists may take:

All vehicles coming from Roxas Blvd. utilizing San Andres St. shall turn right to Adriatico St. to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from Taft Ave./Quirino Ave. utilizing San Andres St. shall turn right to LM Guerrero St. to point of destination.

All vehicles utilizing Leveriza St., bound for San Andres St. shall turn left or right to Quirino Ave. to point of destination.

According to the MPD, the activity will be attended by Estrada and Duterte-Carpio. 

The announcement did not say what time the roads will be opened again, but it did say to "Expect heavy traffic and take alternate route." — BM, GMA News
