3 Pasig residents arrested for faking student ID for P400 coupon

Three residents of Pasig City were arrested on Thursday for faking student identification cards in order to avail the P400 food coupon given by the local government to public school students.

The individual who printed the fake I.D. admitted to his wrongdoing.

Pasig City Police chief Police Colonel Moises Villaceran said the arrested individuals may be charged with falsification of public documents and the use of the falsified documents.

According to the report, the two women who were arrested do have children who were students.

"'Yung anak ko po nung nag-issue-han po ng I.D., absent po siya. Wala po akong intensyon na mandaya. Humihingi po ako ng sorry," the woman said.

Pasig has passed an ordinance in the city ordering all residents to wear facemasks and gloves amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

One man, however, was arrested on Thursday for punching the barangay tanod who scolded him for his failure in following the ordinance.

The baarangay tanod sustained a wound on his left eyebrow.

Nakatalikod po ako nung sinuntok niya," the barangay tanod said.
.
However, the arrested man countered this, saying it was the barangay personnel who followed.

Ayun, binanatan ko po," he said.

The man may be charged for violating quarantine measures and assaulting the barangay personnel.

The number of individuals who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 in the city climbed to 229 on Thursday after 10 new cases were reported.

Meanwhile, the city has recorded 39 fatalities and 46 recoveries from the virus. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
