MMDA reminds public: Using quarantine pass to enter another city, town not allowed
A quarantine pass does not authorize its bearer to cross town or city boundaries during the enhanced community quarantine, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reminded the public on Friday.
At a Laging Handa press briefing, MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago warned that authorities were confiscating the licenses of drivers who will be caught doing this.
Pialago's warning came following the intensified operation of the MMDA and the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group against vehicles who had no business to travel but continue to ply major roads such as EDSA.
As of Thursday, authorities issued tickets to 71 drivers of non-essential vehicles.
The PNP warned that drivers could be penalized with a fine ranging from P700 to P1,000. -MDM, GMA News
