Walk to work option for labor force under MECQ in Metro Manila

On the first day of the two-week Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) on Tuesday, employees are forced to walk to work after failing to find a ride.

Mark Malalad reported on Super Radyo's DZBB that commuters are walking along Marcos Highway early this morning.

Jhenday Atbigos who lives in Antipolo has to travel to Marikina where she works as a service crew.

She said that she had to endure walking for two hours just to reach destination.

President Rodrigo Duterte announced that Metro Manila and nearby areas will be under MECQ for two weeks after health frontliners asked for a time out to recalibrate strategies against COVID-19 as health workers are already worn out due to the rising number of cases being admitted in hospitals. -- BAP, GMA News
