Full-face visor helmet now required for motorcycle drivers, backriders — MMDA exec

Motorcycle drivers and backriders are now required to wear full-face visor helmets under general community quarantine (GCQ), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

Interviewed on GMA Network’s Unang Hirit on Monday, MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia said the Joint Task Force (JTF) COVID Shield ordered the measure.

Siguro ito ‘yung substitute,”Garcia said.

He explained that wearing a face shield while driving a motorcycle can be dangerous considering that the protective gear can be drifted by the wind.

Liliparin 'yan unlike noong full-face visor,”he said.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, the MMDA said the new measure is included to the guidelines of the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 for motorcycle backriding under GCQ.

— Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
