Road closures, traffic rerouting on Araw ng Maynila


Several roads will be closed and traffic will be rerouted on Thursday, June 24 in celebration of the 450th founding anniversary of the city of Manila.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the following roads will be closed starting 6:30 a.m.:

  • Northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. from Pres. Quirino Avenue to Katigbak Drive
  • Stretch of Roxas Blvd. Service Road from Pres. Quirino Avenue to P. Gil Street
  • San Andres St. from M.H. Del Pilar from Roxas Blvd. Service Road
  • Remedios St. from M.H. Del Pilar from Roxas Blvd. Service Road

Meanwhile, rerouting will be enforced on the following:

  • All light vehicles intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. Service Road shall turn right Pres. Quirino to point of destination
  • All light vehicles intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. Service Road shall turn left P. Gil Street to point of destination
  • All light vehicles traveling westbound of T.M. Kalaw intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall turn right to Maria Orosa to point of destination
  • All vehicles traveling westbound of San Andres St. shall turn right to Mabini Street or turn left to M.H. Del Pilar to point of destination
  • All vehicles traveling westbound of Remedios St. shall turn right to Mabini Street or turn left to M.H. Del Pilar to point of destination
  • All vehicles traveling southbound of Roxas Blvd. Service Road shall turn left to Pedro Gil St. right to M.H. Del Pilar St. to point of destination

Meanwhile, trucks and trailer trucks intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall turn right to Pres. Quirino Avenue to Plaza Dilao to their point of destination.

The MPD advised motorists participating in activities in Luneta to park inside the National Historical Commission of the Philippines while those that would take part in Raja Sulayman activity were advised to park at a single lane of Remedios St. and a single lane of San Andres St.

“Actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on the actual traffic situation,” the MPD said.
