Manila archbishop Jose Advincula tests positive for COVID-19


Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Manila Cathedral announced Friday evening.

According to Chancellor Fr. Reginald Malicdem, Advincula is not experiencing any symptoms aside from a slight fever.

“He is in quarantine, observing strict protocols.  Doctors are also monitoring his condition. We appeal for your prayers for His Eminence and for all those who are sick with COVID-19,” he said in a statement.

 

Advincula on Wednesday held a mass for frontliners at the San Felipe Neri Parish in Mandaluyong City.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has logged a total of 2,324,475 confirmed cases, of which 2,100,039 have recovered and 36,328 have died.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
