Manila offers booster shot to workers in city gov't projects

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Wednesday ordered the setting up of onsite vaccinations of booster shots against  COVID-19 for construction workers in the city government’s ongoing projects.

In a statement, the city government said Moreno instructed the city’s Department of Engineering and Public Works to immediately prepare a schedule for the onsite vaccinations.

“Mag-schedule na sa lahat ng construction site natin. Pa-schedule ako on-site para hindi masayang ang trabaho nila. (Set a schedule in all our construction sites so their work won't be wasted),” he said.

According to the city government, thousands of construction workers will benefit from the onsite vaccinations.

Among the ongoing projects in the city are Manila Science High School and Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School.

Six residential buildings for informal settlers are also under construction including Tondominium 1 and 2, Binondominium, San Lazaro Residences, Pedro Gil Residences, and San Sebastian Residences.

President Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital also started construction, the city government added.

Earlier, the Manila government also conducted a "special" COVID-19 vaccination for the booster shot of delivery workers who are dropping goods to the city. —LBG, GMA News
