Cardinal Advincula appoints 3 priests to 'public affairs' posts

Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula has appointed three priests to lead ministries focused on "public affairs" in the archdiocese, according to a post on the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.

He named Fr. Reginald Malicdem, who served as rector of the Manila Cathedral for six years, as spokesperson of the archdiocese.

In a circular issued Jan. 20 that was made public Monday, he also appointed Nuestra Señora de Perpetuo Socorro Parish priest Fr. Jerome Secillano as the head the Ministry on Public Affairs.

Secillano, who is also the executive secretary of the Committee on Public Affairs of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines, is replacing Fr. Atilano Fajardo.

Fr. Enrico Martin Adoviso will replace Msgr. Hernando Coronel, as head of the Ministry on Socio-Political Advocacy - the body that oversees the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV). -- BAP, GMA News
