Same firearm used in 3 separate shootings of BOC employees —PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said the same firearm was used in three separate shooting incidents this year targeting employees of the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

At a press conference, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said these incidents happened on January 7 and 14, and on February 11.

“Doon sa insidente sa January 7, January 14, and February 11, based po doon sa cross-matching natin ay iisa yung baril na ginamit, 9 mm. Nag-match yung mga nakuha nating fired cartridge cases,” she said.

(Based on our cross-matching, the same gun, a 9mm, was used in those incidents on January 7, January 14, and February 11. The fired cartridge cases that we obtained matched.)

Fajardo said a total of six Customs employees had been attacked since December last year. Two incidents of grenade throwing in Customs were also reported.

Meanwhile, she said the police already filed a complaint for murder and possession of firearms against a person identified as the gunman in a shooting incident in January.

Fajardo added that the suspect was found roaming around Customs while carrying a gun in February.

Aside from this, Fajardo added that the gun used in the shooting of a lawyer in Customs in December last year was also linked to a shooting incident in Rizal. —KBK, GMA News
