Motorcycle rider falls from Kalayaan flyover, hit by truck at ground level

A motorcycle rider died after falling from Kalayaan flyover in Makati City on Saturday morning.

After the motorcycle rider fell from Kalayaan flyover past 4 a.m., he was hit by a truck in EDSA, according to Corrine Catibayan’s “24 Oras Weekend” report on Saturday.

The Red Cross rescue team, who responded in the incident, said the rider died on the spot.

“Nasa taas siya ng Kalayaan flyover. Doon na naiwan yung motor niya,” Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic auxiliary Cyril Salvacion said.

(He was at the Kalayaan flyover where he fell and his motorbike was left behind.)

Authorities said there is no CCTV in the area, adding that they are still looking at the possibility that he may have collided with another vehicle before he fell from the flyover.

The rider’s helmet was also damaged, which was found a few meters from the area where he fell.
