Reelected San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora on Wednesday said he would prioritize in-city housing projects and expansion of free internet for public school students in his new term.

Interviewed on GMA News’ Unang Balita, Zamora said he would continue his programs for the city that were halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Halimbawa, yung ating dalawang high-rise in-city socialized public housing buildings. Yan po ay ating tatapusin [For example, our two high-rise in-city socialized public housing buildings. We will finish that],” he said.

Zamora also said he would expand the Smart City Program for education. According to him, the ratio of public school students to tablets in the city is now at 1:1, and that internet connection is already accessible to residents' homes.

“So lalo nating papalawakin yung free internet service para sa ating public school students [We will further expand the free internet service for our public school students],” he said.

Aside from these, Zamora said he would also prioritize the construction of infrastructures such as wooden basketball courts, and the city's COVID-19 response.

Zamora said the 15-0 sweep of his party Team Makabagong San Juan in the 2022 elections would be a big help to accomplish the projects for the city.

Aside from him, Zamora said the candidates of the party for congressman, vice-mayor, and 12 councilors also won in the May 9 elections. —KBK, GMA News
