Truck bumps, pushes car before fleeing scene

A truck driver in Parañaque City hit a car and continued to push it for several meters before fleeing the scene, according to Marisol Abdurahman’s report on “24 Oras.”

The incident, which was caught on camera, showed the truck was plying along C-5 extension road when he suddenly bumped a white car.

But instead of stopping, he plowed the smaller vehicle causing it to hit another in front.

As in parang walang nangyari,” Police Staff Sergeant Joel Baes, Parañaque traffic investigator, said.

(He continued driving until he turned right. He acted as if nothing happened.)

(It’s impossible for him not to notice that he already hit two vehicles.)

GMA News reached out to the victim who said he was shocked by the incident.

(I was shocked when he hit me again. He did not stop. I don’t know if it was evident in the video but I tried braking. But of course, my car is just small so I cannot stop the truck.)

Authorities were able to identify the truck driver through his vehicle’s plate number. He was a no-show, however, when invited by the traffic bureau.

“Since wala na pong dumating, magpa-file na lang po kami ng kaso laban dun sa may-ari ng dump truck,” Baes said.

(Since no one came, we will file charges against the owner of the truck.)—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA News
