MMDA: Gutter-deep floods hit NCR roads amid Habagat

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday reported gutter-deep and above gutter-deep floods in some roads in the National Capital Region (NCR) amid the inclement weather.

In an alert as of 7:53 a.m., MMDA said gutter-deep floods were reported in the following roads:

  • EDSA-POEA southbound
  • MIA-Domestic westbound
  • EDSA-Ortigas southbound in front of POEA
  • EDSA-Ortigas northbound on ramp and southbound off ramp

Meanwhile, above gutter-deep flood was reported in E. Rodriguez-Araneta northbound after the intersection as of 8 a.m.

On Tuesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting Central and Southern Luzon  and will bring rain showers all over the country.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bataan, and Zambales will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.

Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains, according to PAGASA. --Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
