Second Alarm raised at Marikina River


A Second Alarm was raised at the Marikina River late Sunday night due to the inclement conditions from Typhoon Karding, according to a Super Radyo dzBB report.

The report added that locals living in low-lying areas had started evacuating.

A First Alarm was declared at 9 p.m. as the Marikina River's level reached 15.

Under Marikina City's system, the First Alarm will be raised when the water reaches 15 meters. This means "warning."

The Second Alarm will be raised when the river rises to 16 meters, and this means "prepare."

The Third Alarm is signaled when the water level is at 18 meters. This means "evacuate." — DVM, GMA News
