Man nabbed after taking to motel 14-year-old he met in online game

A 35-year-old man was arrested after he took to a motel room a 14-year-old girl, whom he met through an online game.

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras”, members of the Quezon City Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) apprehended suspect Estelito Gibaga Piolino inside a motel with the victim on October 6.

“He's showing obscene photos of himself (on Facebook Messenger and Snapchat). Meaning, the private parts. And then he is asking the victim to do the same," said PNP-ACG Spokesperson Police Lieutenant Michelle Sabino.

Sabino said the victim’s mother sought the help of the police in September when she saw Piolino and the victim's conversations, a month after the victim and the suspect met while playing an online game.

An entrapment operation was set against the suspect after he invited the victim to watch a movie.

After that, the suspect brought the victim to a motel.

"That's when we apprehended the guy,” said Sabino.

The suspect is now under police custody and is facing charges of violating Republic Act (RA) 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law and RA 9975 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.

He admitted to the crime and apologized to the victim and her family.

For their part, the PNP-ACG warned parents to keep track of their children’s activities online amid reports of such incidents. —Sundy Locus/NB, GMA News
