Romando Artes named acting MMDA chief

Lawyer Romando Artes will once again lead the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Artes’ appointment as acting MMDA chairperson was announced by Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) officer-in-charge Cheloy Garafil on Saturday. He replaced Carlo Dimayuga III who was only appointed in August.

He first served as the MMDA’s assistant general manager for finance and administration in May 2017, general manager in October 2021, and officer-in-charge in February 2022.

In March, he was appointed chairperson by then President Rodrigo Duterte.

However, Artes had to vacate the top MMDA post after the Marcos administration took over in June. — VBL, GMA News
