DOTr: 70 out of 72 MRT-3 wagons overhauled

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Tuesday that 70 out of 72 Manila Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) light rail vehicles (LRVs) or wagons have been overhauled.

In a statement, DOTr said the latest overhauled wagon was successfully deployed on the mainline on December 9, 2022.

“The ride is fast, comfortable, and cool inside the newly overhauled wagons that have gone through a series of speed and quality checks to ensure safe revenue travel,” it shared.

Meanwhile, two wagons are still scheduled to undergo general overhauling.

The overhauling of the wagons was part of the maintenance program under the management of the MRT-3 maintenance provider. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
