NCR COVID-19 positivity rate drops further to 3.7% — OCTA

The seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) further dropped to 3.7%, independent monitoring group OCTA Research said Monday.

OCTA fellow Guido David said the region’s positivity rate, or the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested, decreased to 3.7% on January 14 from 5.8% on January 7.

Data from OCTA showed that NCR, Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Cagayan, Cavite, Ilocos Norte, Laguna, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Zambales recorded “low” positivity rates or positivity rates below the 5% threshold.

Bulacan recorded the lowest positivity rate among Luzon provinces with 2.3%.

Meanwhile, the positivity rate of Albay decreased from 25.6% on January 7 to 7.7% on January 14.
