2 Makati LGU employees nabbed for alleged ‘fixer’ activities

Two city government employees and another individual were apprehended in separate operations for allegedly offering "fixer" services at the Makati City Hall.

According to the Makati government, one of the city employees works as an administrative assistant, while the other worked for the city health department's sanitary section.

The three were nabbed in separate operations. The administrative assistant and the third individual allegedly offered to process an undercover police officer's business permit at the Makati Business Permits and Licensing Office for a fee. The administrative assistant was arrested at Makati City Hall Building 2.

The other city employee was nabbed after police received information about fixers lurking outside the same building, and was arrested after allegedly asking for money in exchange for processing a health certificate. The police said they seized 41 accomplished health certificates in the operation.

The suspects are facing charges of violating Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA Integrated News
