LPGMA: No increase in LPG prices until next month

MANILA, Philippines - Amid the weekly increases in the prices of petroleum products, there will be no increase in the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at least until next month, the LPG Marketers Association said Friday. In an interview with radio dzBB, Arnel Ty, LPGMA president, said the dealers decided to hold its prices and absorb the increase in the prices of LPG in the world market, if there will be any. "Yung itinaas noong nakaraang buwan at presyo po ngayon ay maliit ang diperensya at hindi na kailangang gumalaw ang local market (The difference between the increase in the prices of LPG last month and this month were minimal so we think there is no need for local price of LPG to move)," Ty said. "Kaya pa naman po. Hanggang sa susunod na buwan pwedeng i-absorb na lang kung may maliit na pagbabago. Sa palagay po namin maliit lang ang paggalaw (Until next month we can still absorb slight changes in the prices. I think the movement will be very minimal)," the LPGMA president added. LPGMA's latest price increase was the P3.50 per kilogram hike implemented on May 31. With the increase, the price of a standard 11-kilogram LPG cylinder rose to P610 from P568. - GMANews.TV
