Former President Gloria Arroyo may not be quite ready to be transferred from a government hospital to a regular jail as she still needs physical therapy, her doctor said Friday. Arroyo's doctor Antonio Sison disclosed this before a Pasay City court, which heard on Friday a move by the Commission on Elections to have Arroyo transferred to a regular jail. Sison said that while Arroyo's condition had improved, she still has osteoarthritis and must undergo physical therapy, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported. The Comelec, which filed charges of electoral sabotage against Arroyo, wants her transferred to a regular jail if her physical condition allows it. Arroyo had been detained at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City since Dec. 9, where she was moved from the St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig City. The former leader is now a member of the House of Representatives, representing the second legislative district of Pampanga. Meanwhile, the former leader's supporters attended a Mass on Friday outside the court to show their love for the former leader. — LBG, GMA News
