Former Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff Gen. Jessie Dellosa has been appointed to the Bureau of Customs as one of its deputy commissioners, Malacañang said Saturday.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said President Benigno Aquino on Friday signed Dellosa’s appointment as deputy BOC commissioner for intelligence, replacing Danilo Lim.
Lim had resigned shortly after Aquino scolded the BOC during his State of the Nation Address last July for failing to stamp out corruption.
"The appointment was signed by the President (September 27), Jessie Dellosa for intel, as Deputy Commissioner for the Intelligence Group," Valte said on government-run dzRB radio.
Valte also said Aquino made other appointments to the BOC, including:
- Primo Aguas as Deputy Commissioner for Management Information Systems and Technology Group, replacing Maria Caridad Manarang
- Agaton Teodoro Uvero as Deputy Commissioner for Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group, replacing Prudencio Reyes.
Valte also said two officials will be detailed to deputy commissioner posts "from their existing offices in government." She said these include:
- Department of Budget and Management director Myrna Chua, to be detailed to the Internal Administration Group
- Department of Finance Assistant Secretary (Edita) Tan to be detailed as Deputy Commissioner for the Revenue Collection Monitoring Group.
