Duterte laughs off Robredo’s alleged proposal to decriminalize drug use

President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday laughed off Vice President Leni Robredo's supposed proposal to decriminalize drug use.

In a brief interview with reporters in Malacañang, Duterte recalled that a member country of the European Union (EU) suggested to decriminalize illegal drugs.

"Pareho ‘yan ng UE? Ay EU. Ayoko ng EU. Alam mo... 'Pag magalit kasi ako, ganoon," he said after he was asked to comment on Robredo's suggestion.

"Ano ‘yan eh, ang suggestion nila magtayo ako ng mga clinic dito sa Maynila tapos ako na ang mag-suplay ng shabu, cocaine. Si Robredo naman uy," he added.

Robredo on Thursday denied reports quoting her as proposing to decriminalize drug use. She argued that she only suggested to check out other countries' best practices. — MDM, GMA News
