Duterte signs law giving free internet access in public places
By TRISHA MACAS, GMA NewsPresident Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday enacted a measure that would compel the government to provide free internet access in public spaces.
Republic Act No. 10929, also known as the Free Internet Access in Public Places Act, covers national and local government offices, public basic educations institutions, state universities and colleges, as well as Technical Education and Skills Development Authority institutions, public hospitals, and others.

It also states that the minimum internet speed per user is 2 Mbps or as prescribed by the National Broadband Plan, whichever is higher. — MDM/KVD, GMA News
