Supreme Court outraged over Butuan City judge's killing

Supreme Court justices on Sunday said they were outraged over the latest killing of a local court judge in Butuan City.

"The Chief Justice and Associate Justices express their outrage and sadness at the killing of Honorable Presiding Judge Godofredo Abul Jr. of the Regional Trial Court of Butuan City, Brach 4..." the high court said in a statement.

It urged the police to "take all necessary steps with all deliberate speed" to solve the judge's killing.

Abul was shot dead inside his home's compound in Butuan City on Saturday morning. His wife was injured in the attack.

The couple was on board an SUV and about to leave their home when they were attacked. The still unidentified gunmen escaped.

The local police has created a task force to investigate Abul's killing. —ALG, GMA News
