Jinggoy set free on P1.3-M bail after 3 years
By TED CORDERO, GMA NewsAfter spending three years behind bars, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada on Saturday was released on bail and left his detention cell at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center inside Camp Crame in Quezon City before 1 p.m.
Estrada's release came hours after his lawyers posted a P1.3-million bail with the Sandiganbayan.
The Sandiganbayan sheriff served the release order issued by the anti-graft court's Fifth Division at the PNP Custodial Center earlier in the day. Estrada's legal team, led by Atty. Alexis Abastillas-Suarez, accompanied the sheriff for the serving of the release order.

Prior to his release, a doctor from the PNP General Hospital went to the Custodial Center to check Estrada's health condition.
The former senator is facing plunder and graft charges in connection with the alleged misuse of his Priority Development Assistance Fund.
In 2014, Estrada along with his fellow former senators Ramong "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Juan Ponce Enrile were detained in light of the the P10-billion pork barrel scam. — MDM, GMA News
