In an interview on News To Go, Heydarian expressed concern over the recent report of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI) that China continued to build permanent facilities such as underground storage areas, administrative buildings, radar, and sensor arrays on the disputed areas.

Heydarian said he could not see China's commitment with these supposed activities.

He said the Philippine government must have a stronger stand on this issue and officials should not deny what is really happening on the ground. —NB, GMA News
