Members of the ruling PDP-Laban party flocked to the Quezon City Memorial Circle on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate their 36th founding anniversary and show support for President Rodrigo Duterte.
The party's national executive director Glendol Badon said the event was organized not only to celebrate another year of solidarity, but also to show continuing support for Duterte, as well as for the party's principles and Constitution.
Members from Metro Manila and regional officers were among the earliest to arrive.
Badon said the crowd is expected to swell over their target of 5,000.
For the safety of the participants, PDP Laban's finance committee chairperson Nelson Billones said the venue is being monitored by at least 20 security marshalls.
