'UNFIT TO BE PRESIDENT'

De Lima calls for Duterte to resign; court defers her arraignment

Senator Leila de Lima on Friday said President Rodrigo Duterte should resign, according to a report on News To Go by Cedric Castillo.

"Dapat naman talagang mag-resign. Hindi karapat-dapat. He is clearly unfit to be President. So unfit," De Lima said after a hearing at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 206 for drug-related charges.

De Lima's arraignment was also rescheduled to June 22 by the court under Judge Lorna Domingo Navarro.

Navarro wanted the arraignment to be held on Friday after De Lima's motion for reconsideration was denied.

However, De Lima's camp filed a motion to quash. Thus the court gave the prosecution five days to comment on it. Navarro also gave the defense five days to submit a reply.

Both the prosecution and defense panels were also give five days to comment and reply regarding De Lima's petition for furlough.

De Lima filed a Very Urgent Motion for Furlough before the Muntinlupa City RTC Branches 205 and 206 last Tuesday, saying she wanted to attend the graduation of her youngest son, Vincent Joshua de Lima Bohol, on June 3. —KG, GMA News
