Lani: Bong anxious on night before promulgation

Former Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr was "anxious" and kept on praying on the night before his promulgation at the Sandiganbayan, his wife, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado said Friday.

"Bago kami naghiwalay kagabi anxious siya, hindi niya alam yung nararamdaman. Basta dasal lang kami ng dasal," Mercado said in an exclusive interview with GMA News' Mariz Umali inside the van en route to Sandiganbayan from Camp Crame.

"We pray from the heart. Pag gising pa lang sa umaga nagpapatugtog na kami ng praise and worship song para ma-set yung mood mo for the day," Mercado added.

Revilla has been detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame since June 2014. 

"It's been a long four years and five months," Mercado said of her husband's detention.

Mercado said she intended to be with her husband at his detention cell Thursday night but she was not allowed to. "I had to come back at 4 [a.m.]," she said. 

The promulgation of judgment of Revilla's plunder case is expected past 8:30 a.m. at the Sandiganbayan First Division. —KBK, GMA News
