Duterte satisfaction rating rises in last quarter of 2018 —SWS

President Rodrigo Duterte has ended the year leaving most Filipinos satisfied as his performance garnered a "very good" net satisfaction rating for the last quarter of 2018, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

The Fourth Quarter Social Weather Survey conducted from December 16 to 19 showed that 74 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Duterte -- an improvement from his 70 percent net satisfaction rating last September already classified as "very good."

Results of the latest survey released on Friday also showed that only 15 percent of adult Filipinos were dissatisfied with the President, while the other 11 percent were undecided.

The nationwide survey used face-to-face interviews with 1,440 adults aged 18 years-old and above (360 each from Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao).

It used sampling error margins of ±2.6 percent for national percentages, and ±5 percent each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The survey was non-commissioned.

According to the SWS, the six-point rise in Duterte's net satisfaction rating from September 2018 to December 2018  was due to increases in Metro Manila (22 points), the Visayas (13 points), and Balance Luzon (3 points) and all socio-economic classes, combined with a 4-point decline in Mindanao.

The SWS said the Duterte's net satifaction rating went up in urban areas, all socio-economic classes, among both men and women, and all age groups except those aged 45 to 54.

The SWS also noted an improvement in Duterte's net satisfaction among high school and college students.

Among high school graduates, the rating rose from "good" to "very good," with 75 percent satisfied in December compared to 68 percent in September.

The rating stayed "very good" among college graduates with 78 percent satisfied in December compared to 69 percent in September. —LDF, GMA News
