Japan sends sympathies to victims of latest Mindanao earthquake

Japan, through Ambassador Koji Haneda, has sent its 'sincerest condolences to the families of the victims of the earthquakes that struck the Mindanao area.'

In the statement, Haneda also expressed Japan's 'sympathies to all the victims who were affected'.

"As an earthquake-prone country, Japan fully understands the hardship caused by such natural disasters. We stand in solidarity with the Government and the people of the Philippines," Haneda said.

Following the earthquake, disaster and local officials reported that at least six people died while dozens were hurt.

On Wednesday morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that more than 300 individuals were injured, and two have gone missing. —Angelica Yang/NB, GMA News
