VP Leni Robredo's mother passes away

Sally Gerona, Vice president Leni Robredo's mother, has passed away on Saturday night.

Robredo confirmed her mother's passing in her Facebook account.

Her mother's wake would begin on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Naga City. Funeral details would be announced after a few days.

Robredo also thanked the people who offered their prayers and sent their condolences.

According to the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Gerona was a teacher by profession who served at the Universidad de Sta. Isabel in Naga, one of the oldest schools in the Philippines.

Last month, the Vice President rushed home to Naga City to be with her ailing mother. The day after, she announced that Gerona's health had improved.
