The Office of Vice President (OVP) Leni Robredo turned over P5.3 million worth of extraction kits, which would be used in the tests for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.

“The OVP allotted some P5.3 million for these kits, which may be used in the process of conducting a total of 12,750 tests," the OVP said in a statement.

Aside from RITM, the OVP said that the extraction kits could also be used by the following hospitals identified as subnational laboratories which could assist in the surveillance of the illness:

The OVP also provided shuttle services to health care workers affected by the ban on mass transport due to the enhanced community quarantine over Luzon — DVM, GMA News
