A statement which appeared to have been from former Senator Bongbong Marcos' wife Liza indicated that they had been tested for COVID-19 and had been found negative.
According to Mav Gonzales' report on "24 Oras", the statement said the Marcos couple and their whole staff at home were tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday and received the results only a day later on Thursday.
They were all negative for the virus, according to the statement.
The statement which was shared over social media included a photo of the smiling senator in bed while holding a newspaper's Thursday edition.
Sought for comment, a member of Senator Imee Marcos' staff said the statement from Liza was not official.
Phone calls to Bongbong, Imee and their respective staff were left unanswered. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
