Duterte’s meeting with IATF, address to nation moved to June 15 —Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte’s meeting with top government officials on COVID-19 response has been moved to June 15 with the chief executive expected to give an address to the nation, Malacañang said Wednesday.

Duterte’s spokesperson Harry Roque said the President’s scheduled meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases on Thursday in Davao City has been postponed.

“He’s coming back to Manila earlier,” Roque said when asked for the reason behind the change in schedule.

The IATF will meet on Wednesday afternoon to discuss whether to further ease restrictions or reimpose lifted quarantine measures starting June 16.

Roque earlier said the IATF's decision will be based on data on the doubling time of cases and critical care capacity.

The decision of the IATF is subject to the approval of the President. —KG, GMA News
