CHED: Some colleges say they may close due to lack of enrollees
Some colleges have informed the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of their possible closure due to a lack of enrollees, chairman Prospero de Vera said Wednesday night.
In a meeting led by President Rodrigo Duterte, De Vera said that parents feared for the safety of their children amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
De Vera said that some private schools and local governments were also confused about what to do about schooling in areas that do not have internet connection.
"Pero humihingi ho ko ng guidance 'yung mga private schools, in particular, atsaka local governments kasi hindi ho nila alam ang gagawin lalo sa mga area na wala talagang internet connection," he said.
He earlier proposed that classes that will require person-to-person interaction be moved to the second semester. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
