SSS to release December, 13th month pensions starting next week — official

State-run Social Security System (SSS) said Wednesday pensioners will receive their December and 13th month pensions beginning December 1.

SSS president and chief executive officer Aurora Ignacio said they are now in the process of transferring the funds to the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

“Ililipat na po namin sa DBP by today or tomorrow ‘yung pondo para maibigay na nila sa mga bangko at maging withdrawable na siya on December 1,” Ignacio said during the Laging Handa briefing.

“So 13th month and December pension will be on December 1 tapos po ‘yung second batch ng pensioners will receive ‘yung kanilang December pension ng December 16.”

The SSS started releasing last month the regular pensions through the DBP’s disbursement facility via the Philippine Electronic Fund Transfer System and Operations Network (PESONet) and DBP-accredited remittance transfer companies (RTCs)/cash payout outlets (CPOs).

Launched in November 2017, PESONet is an electronic fund transfer payments system that enables individuals to digitally transfer funds to any bank in the network, and will be received within the same banking day or immediately upon clearing. — Virgil Lopez/RSJ, GMA News
