2.1 million Filipinos now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 — DOH

More than two million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.

A total of 8,407,342 doses have been administered as of June 20, the DOH said. Of this number, 6,253,400 shots were for the first dose while 2,153,942 were for the second dose.

The department also said the total number of doses administered in the 16th week of the national vaccination campaign reached a record high of 1,461,666.

The average daily administered doses over the past week was 208,809.

“The government is urging eligible populations belonging to priority groups A1 to A5 to register with their local government units, get vaccinated, and complete the required number of doses as scheduled,” the DOH said.

“Regardless of vaccination status, everyone is urged to continue practicing the minimum public health standards as you may still get infected with COVID-19 and infect other people.”

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Sunday the Philippines would be able to sustain the momentum because the country expects a steady supply of vaccines in the coming weeks and months.

There are currently 3,991 vaccination sites in the country. — Virgil Lopez/RSJ, GMA News
